Tour du Mont Blanc

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

When taking our A-Levels, we lost a friend very dear to us. We were all devastated, and had no idea what to do at the time and I still don't think we have ever truly processed what happened. For years now we have been thinking of doing something in his memory, and only now have decided THIS IS THE TIME!

We want to fundraise for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this by offering life saving services, provoking conversation and bringing people together to reject living miserably.

From advice on their site, through to free, confidential chats with their helpline staff, online or on the phone, they there for whoever needs them, every day. No matter what.

£8 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.

We will be taking on the Tour Du Mont Blanc from the 19th-29th of July - a challenging 170km trek through 3 countries (France, Switzerland and Italy). Its further than either of us have ever walked, and I won't lie, i'm slightly terrified (yes, its obviously Joe writing this). I view Henry as a reasonably fit individual, as for myself, i haven't done any real cardio since the under 16C Rugby teams 3 year undefeated stint. So I can safely say that i think I have a fair bit of training to do before i can walk 170km through the mountains.

We would really appreciate your donations to help reach our target, and to help people living miserably.

Cheers,

Joe and Henry
