Joshua Mordue is raising money for Friends of Serenity

In memory of Amelia Mordue

Joe & James’s Ridiculous Walkathon · 13 February 2026

Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant women and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death in particular but not exclusively by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, Serenity Suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre not normally provided by the statutory authorities. We work hard to support newly bereaved parents through the provision of memory boxes and miscarriage keepsakes. By dressing their babies we hope to make distressing and devastating time a little more comforting by taking the pressure off them. These are provided in East Lancashire and throughout the country on public requirement. Additionally, we strive to provide qualified information by any means appropriate on the 2nd most common chromosome disorder Trisomy 13.

Story

Joe Cranston and James Hanson are embarking on an epic walk to fundraise for the Charity ‘Friends of Serenity’. Their ridiculous walkathon see them walk from Pudsey Bowling Club to Ribblesdale Wanderers. The walk is 68.5km and all done in one day!

Their aim is to raise funds to raise funds after their friends Josh Mordue and Sarah Edmondson had recently experienced a still birth with their daughter Amelia. This wonderful charity gave them an incredible memory box to help remember their daughter. This fundraising effort will jointly support Josh & Sarah’s fundraising, helping to create one fantastic total!

Joe and James want to help the fundraising by doing this incredible challenge and encourage people to donate. They aim to at least get £685 which is £10 per Kilometre!

Friends of Serenity are a registered charity who provide memory boxes filled with items such as invisible ink for had and foot prints, clothes, blankets, books, poems and keyrings.

Their incredible challenge sees them walk 68.5KM in one day from Pudsey Bowling Club in Pudsey, Leeds to Ribblesdale Wanderers in Clitheroe. A cross border challenge that will be an incredibly difficult test.

Can you support them in their efforts by donating!
