Two Wheels for Life is an event & fundraising charity that raises funds for organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa that enable reliable transportation for health workers so they can reach the most isolated people with the health care they so desperately need.

Story

Firstly, thanks you so much for taking the time to read this and following the link. Any support you can give goes to a great cause.

We'll start with a little honestly. We're not getting younger and as a test of endurance we've challenged ourselves to a marathon in the only way we know. On Motorcycles!

The challenge is known as the Iron Butt, which requires 1000 miles to be ridden within 24hr. No speeding allowed! This is checked by times recorded on receipts and pictures of taken of mileages. This is then verified by the fantastic team at the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal who organise and monitor the event, known as the RBLR1000.

Joel will be performing this feat on his Suzuki GSX S1000-GT (a sports tourer/Swiss army knife of the two wheeled world) The right choice.

Pat has opted for the way of pain by riding a 1998 Honda Hornet (Naked classic/still in better condition than his back) Best of luck.

We have opted to donate personally to the RBL to enter the event but could not pass the opportunity of raising more money for another organisation we felt fitted the challenge perfectly. Two Wheels for Life is programme who support multiple African countries. Delivered by Riders for Health (Riders) , their unique systems ensure motorcycles and other vehicles run reliably day in, day out. This means health workers can reliably get out to villages to care for babies, children and the elderly, and test results can be taken to labs and returned swiftly for quick diagnosis of diseases.
