On Saturday 25th May 2024 Joel is running in the Junior 5k run at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival and Evan is running in the 2k. They enjoy running and have both had individual and team success at school in x country and both take part in both junior parkrun and parkrun regularly. Evan was born with Group Strep B and was very poorly immediately after he was born. Evan made a full recovery, and now they want to raise money for this wonderful charity to help children and families who are suffering and are affected by this illness.

Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months.

On average in the UK, at least

-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection

-one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and

-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both.
