Story
How tired do you think you would be after walking for 24 hours? How painful would your blistered and swollen feet be after walking over 70 miles? Not as tired as the sleepless nights after losing a baby. Not as painful as the broken hearts of those who will not learn how kind or smart or loving their babies would otherwise have grown up to be.
On Friday 9th October 2026, Tanya and I will be commencing a mammoth 24-hour walk across Norfolk to raise awareness and much needed funds for two baby-loss charities. Tanya will be raising funds for TimeNorfolk, an incredible local charity which provides support to anyone in Norfolk who experiences mental health challenges due to pregnancy loss at any stage, baby loss or pregnancy choices.
I have taken this opportunity to represent Tommy's, an amazing charity which was a refuge of information and support for me when Tanya and I experienced miscarriages. Tommy's funds medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage, but also uses that research to offer factual guidance and information about pregnancy and baby loss. They have a whole section of their website for 'Dad's and partners' which I repeatedly used during what would otherwise have been an even more mentally exhausting and scary period of my life.
But these charities need our help! Donations to Tommy's helps to fund a free midwife-led helpline, make up part of the £2 million the charity invests in baby-loss research annually, and helps to maintain an online library of incredible resources, calculators and tools.
