Story

Well, it looks like I’m taking on my biggest challenge yet… **the London Marathon 2027\!** 🏃‍♂️🧡

For those who don’t know me, I’m a volunteer crew member with the RNLI at Cleethorpes Lifeboat Station, something I’m incredibly proud to be a part of\.

Being part of the RNLI has become a huge part of my life\. From training exercises and working towards becoming a helm, to being called out at a moment’s notice, I’ve seen first\-hand the dedication, commitment and hard work that goes into keeping people safe at sea\.

The RNLI is a charity that relies on donations to continue saving lives, and behind every launch is a team of volunteers giving up their own time to help complete strangers, often in some pretty challenging conditions\.

In September 2026 I took on the Great North Run, completing my first half marathon to raise money for the RNLI\. It was an incredible experience, and since then I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that I’d love to take on the full 26\.2 miles of the London Marathon\.

So when the opportunity came up to run London in 2027 for the RNLI, it felt like the natural next step\!

Outside of the lifeboat station, life is already pretty busy running our own coffee shop and business, and with our little girl joining the family in December, finding the time to train is certainly going to be interesting\!

But that’s all part of the challenge, and knowing I’m doing it for a charity that means so much to me will make every early morning, long run and aching leg worthwhile\.

**Every pound raised will go towards supporting the RNLI and the incredible work its crews do around our coastline\.** Whether that’s training, equipment or helping keep our lifeboats ready to launch, every donation really does make a difference\.

If you can spare anything at all, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support\. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page and helping spread the word would mean just as much\.

**26\.2 miles, one incredible cause\. Let’s do this\!** 🧡

Thank you for supporting me and the RNLI\!
