The ARRP headed by Lt Col (Retd) Baz Melia seeks to provide crisis intervention to those former members of The Rifles family suffering mental health issues including PTSD in the period before NHS and other mental health charities are able to react.

Story

Over the past couple of years, I've been inspired by friends and colleagues who have pushed their bodies to the limit in various challenges to raise money and awareness for the AARP. Motivated by their dedication, on July 19th, I will be undertaking a 24-hour run around my local routes in Chepstow. These routes vary in distance from 2km to 27km, offering a diverse and challenging experience.

My mission is twofold: to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the AARP and to contribute significantly to this remarkable charity.

I invite you to help me reach my goal of £3,000. Follow my journey as I prepare for this challenge and throughout the event itself. Your support means everything.

The AARP is uniquely designed to intervene during a mental health crisis and guide an individual through their journey of recovery. With over 160 volunteers supporting more than 60 rifleman in need, the RIFLES initiative is the first of its kind. We have trained over 50 volunteers, awarding them all a level 3 MH first aid qualification worth five hundred pounds. It is undisputable that we are saving lives.
