Prague Marathon · 5 May 2024

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

This May, myself and seven friends are taking on the Prague Marathon, fundraising in aid of the NSPCC.

The NSPCC is the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. They help children who have been abused rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.

Where will your money go?

£4 pays for a trained volunteer counsellor to answer a child’s call for help to Childline.

In 2022/23, NSPCC delivered almost 200,000 Childline counselling sessions through their service for children and young people.

£3 pays for the ‘speak out Stay safe’ programme to reach 1 primary school child, empowering them to speak out if they’re worried about anything.

In 2022/23, NSPCC reached over 1.2 million children in over 5,300 schools through this programme.

£5 covers the cost of answering 1 call to the NSPCC Helpline.

In 2022/23, this helpline responded to over 59,000 contacts from people with concerns about a child’s welfare.

Thank you very much for all the support.
