I am 85 years old and I love to ski. 18 months ago I was diagnosed with cancer at the root of the tongue. The cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in the neck. I really thought my skiing days were over. I was treated at the Lingen Davies Centre in Shrewsbury with a 6 week course of radical radiotherapy, My treatment finished in October 2023. In March I am going skiing in the French Alps for my last ever ski trip. Without the Lingen Davies Centre I would probably no longer be here let alone be in a position to contemplate going skiing. I want to say thank you to the wonderful staff at the Centre and to the staff at the Head and Neck department by using this occasion to raise funds to support their work and the future development of their important service.
