As many of you know, I have supported and volunteered in various capacities for East Cheshire Hospice (ECH) for the past 10 years.

I have now signed up to compete in a midnight walk up Mount Snowdon, now known as Mount Elyri, on Saturday, 2nd August, 2025 and as such, I have committed to raise at least £350 for ECH. That works out at just over 10 pence per foot as the summit of Snowdon is 3,289 feet above sea level. The walk itself is a distance of 9 miles.

I last walked up Snowdon in 1974 as a very fit, 17 year old Police Cadet having competed in the inaugural Snowdonia Seven Mountain Challenge. I now intend to do it as a 68 year old pensioner who thinks he is a mountain goat and should know better!

Having your moral and fiscal support will make things a lot easier for me and although I appreciate ECH may not have any relevance to you, I would be extremely grateful for any donation from you to help reach my target.

East Cheshire Hospice provides compassionate care and support for individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families, offering comfort and dignity at the most challenging times.
