Story
I’m raising money and awareness to find better treatments for low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC), which is a rare and under-researched type of ovarian cancer that is currently hard to cure or treat.
After a diagnosis last year followed by major surgery, hormone therapy and chemotherapy, my sister in law Emma Yendell is currently navigating a tough fight against this, not helped by the lack of existing research. Together, we can try and help remove this scenario for all women affected now and in the future by this chronic disease, so they can keep living life to the full.
I’m fundraising to help support research led by Prof Charlie Gourley and Dr Robb Hollis at the Nicola Murray Centre for Ovarian Cancer Research, University of Edinburgh. Their work focuses on leading crucial research and clinical trials for LGSOC. 100% of your donation will go to support LGSOC research.
I’ll be running the 53 mile Highland Fling Race along the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Tyndrum, with the aim of raising money for research to help those impacted by this rare disease, which has high levels of recurrence and a tendency to affect younger women than the more common high-grade form of ovarian cancer.
Thanks for your support!
