Story
After finding a lump in my neck, on the 16th December 2020 I was diagnosed with orophangeal cancer.
By January 2021 I had undergone two operations with one of them removing a tumour from my tongue and all the lymph nodes from the right side of my neck.
After a short period of recovery I then began 6 weeks of radio therapy treatment.
During this time, I was under the excellent care of the team at Liverpool Head and Neck Centre at Aintree Hospital.
The Liverpool Head and Neck Centre (LHNC) combines internationally recognised clinical and research strengths to deliver research-led improvements in the quality and safety of patient care.
Thanks to them and the care of my family and friends I have been discharged from the hospital after getting to 5 years cancer free.
To mark this milestone I have set myself the challenge of cycling from Land’s End to John o’Groats starting on the 1st June 2026.
So while I cycle I have set up this page and if anyone would like to donate to help LHNC continue their great work it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you❤️
John
