Bath Half 2025 · 16 March 2025 ·

An ethical rabbit rescue based in Somerset. Rehoming and rehabilitating small animals across the UK.

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page for my first attempt to run the Bath Half Marathon (to see if I can still run 20k, since doing the Bristol Half over a decade ago).

This time round, I’m running it to raise money for The BunnyJackpot Foundation (or TBF - Registered Charity No. 1205634).

Me and my wonderful wife Alix have been adopting rabbits through some Bristol Rabbit Charities since our first pair Molly & Mikey in 2016 up to our current couple Willow & Elsa (aka Brad & Angelina, pictured with yours truly below).

Willow was previously bonded with our first rabbit Molly until she sadly passed away in 2021. We were looking to find Willow another bunny to find companionship with (as rabbits like most animals love company of their own kind), and along came Elsa. As with most new rabbit partnerships, Willow & Elsa needed to be properly bonded in a neutral location (while Alix & I deep cleaned Willow’s existing living space, as rabbits can be quite territorial).

This is when we met Heather Medley (Founder of TBF) who, as a specialist in bonding rabbits pairs/groups together, was able to look after Willow & Elsa to successfully bond them before they came home with us.

It was shortly after this, Heather started the TBF in March 2022 as an ethical rescue Charity (based around Somerset/Wiltshire) to foster and re-home rabbits and other small animals UK wide.

It wasn’t long before me and Alix became part of Heather’s amazing foster team that provide a temporary home for the many small animals taken in by TBF before they can be adopted to their forever home. Our current fosters are Tamlin (grey) and Rysand (fawn) pictured below, who are part of a 7 rabbit litter that is currently being looked after by different TBF Fosters before they can be found permanent homes.

TBF relies on donations in order to fund food supplies, enrichment items and vets bills for the rabbits rescued by the Charity.

This is why I’m running this Half Marathon in aid of this Charity that does so much good through so many amazing people.
