WaterAid is an international non-profit with one goal: to change the world through water. Along with decent toilets and good hygiene, a reliable supply of clean water is essential for health, dignity and a life full of opportunity.

Story

Eva Bibi died on 22nd July 2024 aged 18 years old. Eva was passionate about helping others and we organised our first Wellbeing Walk for Water Aid on 20th July 2024. We raised over £1500 and made new friends as we walked together.

Family and friends want to continue to remember Eva and be inspired by her life and example. So our second walk will be on Saturday 9th November 2024 shortly after Eva's birthday which was 6th November.

For many years Eva, from Sunderland, had a vision to help children around the world to have clean water. She said, "I will take part doing everything i can to make the world a better place."

Sunderland Samba FC support young women and communities in Kenya through education and football.

Eva and Samba joined forces on 20th July 2024 to organise our first Wellbeing Walk for Water Aid promoting wellbeing through participation and serving others.

Our next Wellbeing Walk for Water Aid is on Saturday 9th November, 2pm in Silksworth, Sunderland. We will be meeting from 1.30pm for chat and cuppa at New Silksworth Methodist Church, 2 North Street, New Silksworth, Sunderland, SR3 1AY.

Our walk will start, leaving from the church, at 2pm. It will be 5km around Silksworth Sports Complex and lake finishing back at the church. If you can't manage 5km there will be a shorter option or you can remain in the church hall.

Please do join us or do your own walk wherever you may be and make a donation.

WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
