Story
The Fife Malibu Club team will be taking part in the Highland Cross 2026 Duathlon event, helping raise money for some truly wonderful Highland based charities, as listed below.
Each team member will cover the 50 mile course, running first 20 miles and then jumping on their bikes for the 30 mile cycle to the end. The course goes across a rugged stunning landscape, from Kintail to Glen Affric to Beauly.
Highland Cross is organised by volunteers and since 1983 has raised over £6.3m, distributed in full to deserving causes. Some 280 teams take part with around 800 people competing in total.
For 2026 the charities that will benefit from funds raised at the Highland Cross event are:
> Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team SCIO
> Glenurquhart Care Project
> Isobel Fraser Home
> Skye and Lochalsh Young Carers
Members representing the Fife Malibu Club at HC 2026:
> Lucy Gilchrist
> Ayla Brr Moir
> John Budge
Ayla, John and Lucy all met through Hugh Mackay and The Real Mackay, Scotland's most exotic backyard triathlon in Portskerra and are very excited to be doing the Highland Cross event together as a team for 2026.
