Clambering for Euan's Guide

Climbing Arthur's Seat Fifty times in Fifty Days · 25 February 2025
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Last summer I lost an old friend, Euan MacDonald, to Motor Neuron Disease which he contracted aged 29. Despite the cruelty of this disease Euan led a full life, and created a number of amazing legacies. One of those is Euan's Guide - Disabled Access Reviews. I am planning to run or clamber up Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh, fifty times in fifty days as a tribute to Euan who died aged 50. I started this endeavour on January 6 2025 and despite some occasional inclement weather and brushes with injury I should complete it on 25 February. All monies raised will go directly to Euan’s Guide. It is a charity I know well and the team, who are mostly based in Edinburgh, are superb. Euan’s Guide is a charity helping many people with access problems (they could be in a wheelchair, but it might equally be just old age) find a café, restaurant, theatre, outdoor experience or just simply a pub that is easy to access and where the staff are accommodating to those with access challenges. Thank you for your support.

Climb 49 Update
I’ve now made 49 ascents in 45 days, climbed over 12,000m and surpassed the Everest summit on Climb 35. I’m humbled by the support of so many people. I ran like the wind on climb 48 to a record a PB from the BG car park and back in 36 minutes. I’ve hit and surpassed my target and it’s a great feeling to know I and my many supporters have helped. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 1 more to go!
