Story

We have chosen this specific run as it would have marked his 26th Birthday. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃

We are running in memory of a former Service User we supported who was diagnosed with Germ cell tumours stage 4 in September 2025 and subsequently passed away on Friday 25.4.25.

❤️❤️❤️

We supported him to maintain his tenancy within a supported 24/7 scheme in Nottingham City for a period of around 3 years, during this time we supported him to come to terms with his mother’s passing from COVID in 2021. This affected him significantly as he was very close to his mother, and they maintained regular contact until it was no longer possible.

The gentleman we are running for was (using industry standard terms) a challenging individual, yet despite this staff always spoke with kindness, respect and passion relating to their time with him. This person had many notable skills, including the ability to read both upside down AND back to front, and memorise bus routes to the point he could fashion route abroad if this was what was needed. He was a lover of trains, the Simpsons and the colour red, and enjoyed white chocolate and McDonalds at any given opportunity.

Due to his popularity with staff, some remained in contact after he (and they) left the company, Thus we also run for them (the staff) to give them an opportunity to remember and honour his memory, and to support this charitable endeavour.❤️❤️❤️

❤️In our hearts, you will always stay loved and be remembered every day, I remember your smile, your voice, ha,ha,your laughter, each day we take a bus you always love.(pronto.)These memories will forever be cherished, our thoughts and prayers will forever go to you and your family.

Rest in peace.❤️

❤️ Pleasure to support he was polite and loved to go shopping, burger was his favourite meal. I worked with him for about 3 yrs he loved to go to Ikea for a walk round looking at the trains etc he moved from our service last year and to be honest the place as never been the same without him he is greatly missed rip, was a pleasure to know you.❤️

❤️ I was lucky to have the opportunity of working with him for a few years. He was always so enthusiastic and full of common sense. His matter of fact answers to everything always made me laugh. He was also so full of energy and would love to spends hours on the park and going on buses and trains all over everywhere he could. He was really kind and full of empathy, and always said kind words if somebody was ill and was willing to help when I sprained my ankle. He left a big empty space when he left. He will be very missed by everyone.❤️

These are our memories that will remain with us forever ❤️
