It is withgreat sadness that we notify you of the unexpected passing at the age of 72 years of Past President Grigorios Karayannis on the 4th Jan 2025 at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Greg was President of Derby South Rotary for two terms and also served as Treasurer and leader of the International Committee. In later years he was also a member of the Rotary Club of Corfu -Kapodistrias. He was an outstanding Rotarian whose vitality, generosity and presence will always be warmly remembered by those that knew him.

His leading role in the clubs 1996 response to the needs of orphaned children in Moldova was exceptional.

His funeral will be held on Fri 7th Feb at 2.00pm at St Marys Church 11 Bridge Gate, Derby DE1 3AU.There will be a reception at The Old Bell Hotel, 51 Sadler Gate, Derby DE1 3NQ subsequently. If you plan to attend the reception please advise us at info@derbysouthrotary.co.uk
