Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
During August 2025, having just turned 70, I've backpacked the 177-mile Offa's Dyke trail. I've never attempted a walk like this before, so this was quite a challenge.
I'd be very grateful for more donations to help push my total higher. Every pound helps Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep their Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
This has been very personal challenge for me as my niece Natasha has been treated for sarcoma, helped by the brilliant support of Sarcoma UK, since 2020. You can read more about her story here: https://www.thesun.co.uk/health/30983817/mum-riddled-tumours-doctors-dismissed-lump-years-sarcoma/
Since the article, Natasha's continued to get chemotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and is keeping as positive and active as ever.
I've been inspired to do this by my wonderful sister Thalia, Natasha's mum, who speed-walked the London Marathon last year, also in aid of Sarcoma UK: https://sarcoma.org.uk/news/thalia-72-taking-on-marathon-for-daughter-with-seven-tumours/
So I've completed walking the beautiful border country between England and Wales. The work of Sarcoma UK continues, and please continue to support it.
