Story
On the 20th of September 2024, I embarked on a personal journey to climb Ben Nevis for the very first time. Just a year later, on the 12th of September 2025, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. A week later, on the 19th of September, I underwent a serious operation that changed everything for me. Following this, I faced a challenging course of chemotherapy from the 20th of November 2025 until the 10th of February 2026.
Today, I am filled with gratitude as I share that during my last appointment on the 25th of February 2026, my doctors confirmed that "all is good." I am now under the care of the surgical team with regular check-ups scheduled for the next five years. What a difference a year makes!
To honor my journey and celebrate this achievement, I plan to climb Ben Nevis again on the same date in 2026. This trek is not just about me; it’s about giving back to an incredible cause. I am raising funds for The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) to support their vital work in cancer research and help others facing similar battles.
I kindly ask for your support in reaching my target of £1500. Your contributions will make a significant difference in advancing cancer research and providing hope to those in need.
