My running the Chester Metric marathon on Sunday 8th October in a 7ft Gruffalo mascot outfit!

Space is very close to my heart after attending play sessions at a Space in Preston with my brother when we were younger. He uses a wheel chair and I loved watching him thrive in an environment set up to allow him to fit in and have lots of fun!

SPACE Chester began by running play sessions in hired community rooms for over 4 years. The need for their service was much greater than they were able to satisfy, and the sessions were often at risk of overcapacity. In October 2018 they took on their own premises in Chester. After a very busy period of building work and a refit, they opened in February 2020.

The centre includes a large fully accessible, 2 storey play frame and soft play area, Ellies Room; a fully fitted and padded sensory room, a versatile activity room, and a changing place (with hoist).

The new centre provides them with the opportunity to grow, to reach more families and to provide facilities for many more children.

Their mission is to relieve isolation experienced by children with additional needs and their family.
