Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. The Rutland Pork Pie Appreciation Society has been dedicated to supporting the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme (EMICS) for several years. We are proud to announce that we are nearing our goal of raising £60,000 through various direct and indirect sources. Our primary fundraising activities include hosting Pork Pie tasting events throughout the year, culminating in our main event during the summer: The World Amateur Pork Pie Championships.

Our collective efforts have significantly contributed to the purchase of EMICS's fast response vehicle and several pieces of specialized medical equipment that are vital for emergency care. If you would like to learn more about EMICS and their impactful work, please visit: https://emics.org.uk

This upcoming event is being organized by a dedicated member of our society who is taking on a challenging task. Over two days, from Friday, March 20 to Saturday, March 21, 2026, she will be participating in an active period of silence aimed at raising awareness and funds for EMICS. The planned hours of silence will be from midday to 6 PM on both days.

She will start her journey at Wetherspoons on High Street in Oakham (LE15 6AJ) and will move around various venues in and around Oakham throughout the event. We kindly ask for your support in this endeavor; every contribution helps us reach our target amount of £1,000 GBP and makes a difference in providing essential care within our community.
