Story
On the 24th May I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds for Midanne International Vision Academy in Kenya. The School was founded by my good friend Omido Jahonga and currently has 204 children. Children are receiving a good education, 2 meals per day and valuable Bible teaching.
104 of the children are sponsored through SportsReach's Sponsorship Scheme. Sponsors give £17/month, which goes towards the child’s education, uniform and food. The children who are not sponsored are asked to contribute towards school fees. Some are able to do this; however, the majority (around 80%) do not have the means to do this – they are from very low, or no, income families, living hand to mouth.
Money raised from the run, will help support some of these children.
