Story
The DWP & Aviva Dashers are taking on the Yorkshire Marathon Relay to support OSCAR's Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity. The charity raise money to support children with brain tumours and their families, raise awareness of signs and symptoms of this terrible disease, and fund research into better and kinder treatments.
The charity has been running for ten years after Oscar Hughes died of a brain tumour aged just 9. The charity that bears his name has helped so many other children in the same situation.
The DWP & Aviva Dashers is made up of employees from across DWP (John Hall, Sophie Darling, John Reid, Jamie Douglas & Louise Wilson-Lee) and Aviva (Rachel Pickering). Many of us have been deeply affected by cancer, losing loved ones and witnessing first-hand the vital support that charities like OSCAR'S provide. As parents, we can't begin to imagine the impact this disease has on families and children who are fighting it. This is why we are so determined to complete this challenge and support this incredible charity.
