Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Why did you choose Butterfly Hospice trust?

Back in January 2023 I had a meeting with Dawn Skinner one of the Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. This meeting was to hand over a Cheque for the donations that we had collected at the funeral of my dear wife, Jo who had passed away the previous November.

During this meeting, Dawn explained that she would like to refer me to the Butterfly Therapy Service.

From being very sceptical at the thought of going to see a Therapist, that first visit was the start of an 18 month journey with The Butterfly Hospice Trust Therapy service, which is based on-site at the Hospice in the Therapy Village.

The Therapy pods offer a safe, calm and secure environment. The qualified therapists are trained to listen, offer emotional support and explore various coping strategies based on individual needs, as they recognise the uniqueness of each situation.

I will forever be grateful for the service and support I received during those 18 months when I was at my lowest.

I feel that now is the right time for me to give something back to the Butterfly Hospice and show my appreciation to them, so they can continue with the fantastic work they do and support others that now need their services.

Your generosity will be greatly appreciated, and I hope I smash my fundraising target by taking part in the sky dive team of 2025.

Based in Boston, Lincolnshire, the role of The Butterfly Hospice is to provide palliative care and holistic support to guests and their families, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our guests come to us for respite, symptom control, and for care at the end of life.

When you or someone you care about is seriously ill, you want to know that they are getting the best possible care and treatment, and so do we. We aim to enrich people’s

quality of life by relieving symptoms such as pain, breathlessness, and other distressing problems through the skills of our experienced and caring teams, as well as providing

therapeutic support to families and guests.

At the Butterfly Hospice, we provide care in a private facility at no cost to those who spend time with us, ensuring that for our guests every lived day is the best it can be.
