Cancer harms us all, either by afflicting ourselves eventually, or by smiting and stealing from us our friends and family.

FORCE is a local charity supporting patients and loved ones to make the most of precious days in dark times, in Exeter and the surrounding towns and villages.

I’m running in memory of my father-in-law, my sister-in-law’s dad, my cousin, my neighbour across the road, my rugby team-mate, a favourite podcaster, my old rowing coach, and my grandmother.

Four of them died in their 70s,

One in his 40s

Two in their 30s

One in her 20s.

Two oesophageal, one prostate, three pancreatic, two leukaemia.

One in the 1950s, one in the 2010s, six in the 2020s.

Eight stories, eight journeys, eight very different people. Eight heartbroken families. All needing love and support from us all. And from charities with the resources and experience to help.
