Ok! I’m doing this!

You may or may not know that I had an operation to remove a brain tumour in August 2023. I have had amazing treatment and feel it is time to give back. Last year, I was involved in a group that organised a Walk of Hope for Brain Tumour Research so that was my introduction to the charity (Registered charity number 1153487 (England and Wales).

I have decided to do the Camino this year. The Camino de Santiago, or Way of St. James, is a historic pilgrimage network leading to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where the remains of the Apostle James are believed to be buried.

My Camino will start in Porto and take me up the coast of Portugal and into Santiago. It’s a walk of approximately 275 Km ( 170 Miles). Hoping to start in August and take approximately 2 weeks.

Why Brain Tumour Research?

To borrow a phrase from their website “Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.

Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this through raising awareness, campaigning to increase the national investment and funding game-changing research”.

I am self-funding so every penny you can donate goes straight to the charity to fund this vital work.
