Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.

My Dad suffers from Vascular Dementia and Mum recently passed away due to illnesses that were complicated by heart failure. If you know me, you'll know what a devastating effect it has had on us as a family.

Me being over 50 now and unfit (My aim is to complete the ride, rather than aim for a time) makes me realise, more than ever, we all need to do something for others.

There are three middle aged gents doing this together so far. Under the yet announced to the other team members, the catchy 'Team Can you fit a whole pack of Extra Strong Mints in your mouth and eat them?' Banner. (By the way, I can, I did this years ago and nearly died trying).

It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks! John.
