Story
Those arriving at this page will need no introduction to John.
Among his many interests, he was a cricket lover and a long-time member of Durham Cricket. He spent his last day at Chester-le-Street watching Durham take a strong lead against Leicestershire in their last game of the season: they went on to win, achieving promotion to Division 1 of the County Championship. Sadly John died at the ground, on the way back to his car.
For those who would like to celebrate John with a donation, there seemed no more fitting charity than the Durham County Cricket Foundation.
Among other things, the Foundation delivers:
* Cricket-themed sessions for the patients of the Great North Children's Hospital, resulting in great improvements in the children as that commitment has risen over the last three years.
* A partnership with Young Asian Voices, a multicultural youth and community organisation in Sunderland, removing barriers for ethnic minorities to play and compete in community cricket.
* "Walking Cricket" sessions promoting continued fitness among the older generations.
All donations will go towards supporting the Foundation in these endeavours, which we hope will be a tribute John would have appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
