Story
Life turned upside down last year when my dad Bob Marcroft was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma, a 9cm aggressive brain tumour on 2nd July 2025. He was still working and driving up until that point and his normal self. Within 3 weeks he had deteriorated massively and we needed help from St Michael's Hospice in Harrogate.
The hospice were fantastic to my dad and our family and we couldn't of asked for more support and more care for dad. Unfortunately exactly a month later on 2nd August the tumour got the better of him and he died with his family by his bedside in the hospice.
St Michaels are hosting a fundraising run on 1st March 2026 and I'm going to run it in my dad's memory and I am hoping to raise some money for the hospice and the fantastic work they do. I am doing the 10k run and have been training the last couple of months and I am aiming to do it under 1hr (I did one in June last year and bet my dad £50 I would get under 1hr, I didn't and he gleefully took the £50 off me 😂).
If you are able to donate anything to this great cause I would be very grateful. Most people in the Harrogate area will sadly have required help or know someone who has needed St Michaels at some point in life and we are very lucky to have them.
Thank you!
