Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

After struggling for a number of years, our father John, was eventually diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia in 2022. His symptoms began to worsen quite rapidly from this point and after a long battle with the disease, sadly passed away in February this year.

The Lewy Body Society was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of this debilitating disease. They aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
