On 27 July 2026, a group of Scottish veterans will canoe the River Tweed to raise awareness and vital funds for Who Dares Cares.

The tweed is a powerful river and the crews will be hard challenged every day, camping at night on the banks and canoeing around 20 miles per day.

They are also fundraising in support of a memorial dedicated to the men of 11 Commando, this unit has no permanent memorial and by doing this challenge we hope to raise enough funds to rectify this.

This unit was the predecessor to the SAS and contained within it's hallowed ranks was one Lt Paddy Mayne.
