Story

On Saturday 4th October, I will be walking a marathon distance from the Cotswolds market town of Chipping Norton along Shakespeare’s Way – shadowing a possible route the Bard himself took when journeying between London and his home in Stratford.

The route goes through pastoral countryside and idyllic villages made of Cotswolds stone. Half way is the charming market town of Shipston-on-Stour, then its onwards north, following the River Stour through more Cotswolds countryside and Warwickshire villages. Shakespeare’s home town of historic Stratford-upon-Avon will soon come into view at the end as we reach the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Distance: Marathon = 42km

Height ascended: Marathon = 540m

** I am so very humbled by the support, that i have increased the target after reaching it (again) - thank you all so very much.**

I'm fund raising for the Samarians as many people find it hard to speak openly or ask for help, but talking can be life-saving – whether it's with a colleague, family member, friend or helpline like Samaritans. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans volunteers respond to a call for help. Samaritans are available, for free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to listen and support people with whatever they are facing, with no judgement. It’s only your kind donations and 23,000 listening volunteers that ensure Samaritans can always be there for anyone struggling to cope. Thank you for your help.
