Story
I have first hand experience of the effects of Alzheimer’s as I am sure many have and it is extremely sad. This is why I have chosen the Alzheimer’s Society as my Captain's charity.
I am Captain of the Aircraft Golf Society this year. A society that has been going since 1944. The tradition is that the Captain plays the first drive of the first fixture on 1st Aptil at St George’s Hill under the watchful eye of those participating. That is jeopardy enough usually! With the incentive of charitable donations I shall do this with a Hickory shafted wood! I have only recently acquired the club and have only regripped it.
You will see from the pictures I am currently using a Callaway Elyte Driver, great driver and very forgiving! The Hickory wood in comparison is tiny ( not forgiving!) has very different characteristics.
Well I performed the Captain's Drive in on Wednesday and I am pleased to say the ball went down the middle and a satisfactory distance!
Thank you to all who support and donated.
