Ride London 24
Campaign by Oxygen (RCN 1165522)
This year we have a team of six riders undertaking the 100mile route through London and Essex. They are a group of mixed ability but all keen to support Oxygen's work and suffer for the cause! The event takes place on the 26th May 2024

Story

I am raising money for Oxygen because the charity desperately needs it!

Each year Oxygen receives and average of 95 referrals of young people in crisis or very near it, from social services, Schools, Youth workers and Mental health support teams. These are young people who need support with their mental health, help to overcome the challenges they are facing and encouragement to enable them to discover who they are and who they can be in the future.

Securing funding for charities is getting harder given the staggering levels of need and the limited funds available to meet it. Oxygen does its best to bid for funds from a range of sources but it takes time and considerable effort, which has to be balanced against doing the work and prioritising those young people in greatest need.

If you could set up a monthly donation then it would give ongoing support and help us build capacity to help more vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the future. Oh, and PLEASE Gift Aid your donation so that we can claim 20% back from the tax man!

I also love seeing young people discover who they are, that they have someone who can see their potential and who believes in them.

"I have seen first-hand the life changing difference they make to a young person, building confidence and self belief, often being the first time someone has listened and believed in them. Oxygen changes culture, changes the future and changes our community for the better.”

"Going onto the Minecraft youth club on wednesdays is the highlight of my week. I can chat to Charlie and get help if I am not feeling great”
