Story
Sadly back in August I lost one of my biggest role models within my life, my gran. I lived with my gran and papa for the past 4/5 years and she always took a keen interest in all my hobbies, buying me my first pair of running shoes.
After her death I decided that I’d begin to train serious by getting a coach and this helped me majorly fill a void that is irreplaceable.
This year I am taking on Manchester Marathon on April 19th, Scotsathlon in July and also IronMan 70.3 in Weymouth, something I know my gran would’ve absolutely loved.
I’m doing this for myself and also creating a fundraiser for The Neuroscience Foundation to bring awareness to many injuries and fatalities that can happen due to the brain and nervous system, hoping to help research make a breakthrough to avoid the heartbreak me and my family have experienced. This charity gives grants to early career doctors and scientists to explore new techniques and diagnostic treatments into neurological conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, brain tumours, stroke and dementia.
