I’m taking on a 1,000-mile motorcycle ride in just 24 hours to raise funds for The Colonel’s Fund of the Grenadier Guards.

Having served in the Grenadier Guards and spent a lifetime in public service, I understand the importance of supporting those who have given their time, commitment, and often far more, in service to this country. The Colonel’s Fund provides vital support to Grenadier Guardsmen, veterans, and their families—people who don’t always ask for help but deserve it when they need it most.

This is not a simple ride. I’ll be crossing the country twice—riding from Bolton to Ness Point in Lowestoft, the most easterly point of the UK, then across to Land’s End in Penzance, before making the final push back to Bolton.

In total, just over 1,000 miles in 24 hours.

This challenge will test endurance, focus, and resilience. But compared to what many servicemen and women have faced, it is a small effort with a meaningful purpose.

I’ve set a target of £1,000—£1 for every mile ridden.
