Story
Over a few pints back in the autumn of 2024 John Blayney announced that he was going to fulfil his ambition to ride from Land's End to John o ‘Groats. Having then had a few more beers he managed to draft in Paul Morey and muself to join him. Followed was several planning meetings (mainly in the pub), where we decided to toughen the challenge even more and extend the trip to cover 1,000 miles. Finally, we then decided to reverse the trip and start in John o' Groats and ride for 12 days into the prevaling wind and finish in Land's End. As if it isn't going to be tough enough!
It will be by far the hardest physical challenge I have ever done: a 1,000 miles, climbing 50,000 feet and into a head wind for most of the trip. But this should be an amazing adventure, creating lifelong memories with great friends; most importantly we are doing it all in aid of a very special charity.
Paul Morey's company Herschel Infrared have been so kind to be sponsoring us by providing a van, with driver.
We are riding for St Peter’s Hospice. We are all personally paying all our own costs so any donations will go 100% to the charity.
St Peter’s Hospice is close to my heart as most people will have had friends and family who have looked to St Peter’s for end of life support. They rely heavily on donations and without people digging deep could not offer the most amazing service.
I hope my hard work won't go unrecognised and friends, family and people wider afield will give generously.
Thank you for your support!
