Story
On the 19th April 2026,
I aim to complete the Manchester Marathon.
The Marathon entry came around after my uncle and cousin entered and asked if I'd be up for it, without realising the date, I said I'd have a go.
Once I submitted my entry I realised the date would have been my Dads 60th birthday.
I lost my Dad to suicide when he was 21 years old, and I was 11 months old.
Therefore, I quickly decided I wanted to raise funds and awareness for a Suicide Prevention charity.
PAPYRUS is the national charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people take their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
Every £15 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives, thank you.
