Walk Hadrian's Wall in 5 days (84miles)

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

2026 marks the 10th year since the passing of Louise Smith. Ann's daughter, Mum to Joshua, sister to James, my step daughter, partner to Gareth, step sister to Zöe and Karina and auntie to Ben and Sam. Lou arrived at our house one Sunday morning and whilst Ann looked after six month old Joshua, Lou and I embarked on a run. We had only gone about 10 metres when Lou collapsed, suffering a cardiac arrest. Tragically, Lou passed away later the same day at the B.R.I. aged 34. So this year, I want to celebrate Lou's life and raise funds for the BHF. I myself suffered a genetic heart attack back in Dec 2023. Supported by Paul (Barney Wick) and Gareth Hiscock, the challenge is to walk the entire length of Hadrian's Wall (84 miles) in 5 days. That's approximately 17 miles per day. It would be great if you could kindly spare a few pounds to support this worthwhile cause and remember the life of Louise.
