Story
On 17 September 2026, I'm taking on Source to City, a multisport challenge along the entire length of the Hudson River, from its remote source high in the Adirondack Mountains to the heart of New York City.
The journey covers 35 miles on foot (56km), 260 miles by bike (418km), and 21 miles on the water (34km), over five days.
It starts with a full-day hike to the summit of Mount Marcy, New York's highest peak, before descending to Lake Tear of the Clouds, the official source of the Hudson. From there it's 260 miles on the bike through the Hudson Valley and Highlands, a kayak past the ruins of Bannerman Castle, and a final half marathon across the George Washington Bridge and down Manhattan's west side to The Battery.
I'm doing this for Families Thriving Together (FTT), a charity I'm proud to serve as a trustee. FTT works to make parenting support genuinely accessible to families who need it most, because no parent should feel like they're navigating it alone.
Every mile of this challenge, on foot, on the bike, and on the water, is for them. Any support you can offer, however big or small, goes directly toward that work.
Thank you for backing me on this one.
