John led bike rides in aid of Become over many years. This reflected his lifelong concern and passion for the welfare of children, as well as his love of cycling - even during his recent time in hospital, he was still doing seated cycling.

Biking for Children in Care, the group for whom John led numerous rides, have raised over £1 million for Become - a charity that does so much for the life chances of children who are in or leaving the care system. While we are all so sad about John's passing, he would be happy that gifts in his name will help this great work.
