Story
Thank you for checking out this page. We’ve now smashed our target, raising £1,761 for 2 fantastic causes, the Lindsey Lodge & Dove House Hospice.
If you weren't able to donate here but still want to, please consider buying our best mate a pint on his dedicated C-R-Y page here:
Benjamin Russell - Cardiac Risk in the Young
If you're free this weekend, (12th September at 10AM) all are welcome to come cheer us on!

There is a tombola stall and BBQ stall serving refreshments as well as an onsite Cafe. It would be fantastic to have a huge crowd there to cheer all the teams on and enjoy the fun.
Thank you so much in advance for your generosity, anything you can give to support Team Big Red Dogs & Team GOAL Diggers and in turn, promoting the great work that the Dove House Hospice, Lindsey Lodge Hospice and C-R-Y do means the world to us.

In April 2021 a bright light went out when we lost Benjamin Clifford Russell to Dilated Cardiomyopathy.
Ben (a.k.a B-Ronts/B-Russ/Captain(or Chief) Glaze/Moonhead/Slabhead or anything LARGE cranium related nicknames really) was funny, kind and caring as well as an all-around good egg, playing such a huge part in the lives he touched.
Typically, the Wakefield District Raiders would normally meet in April of each year to have a pint for Ben at The Carleton Pub Restaurant in Pontefract. But with it being 5 years, we wanted to do something more.
Thanks to you, we've already raised a whopping £1,161 in a matter of a few weeks as the Big Red Dogs team took part in a trail outing to raise funds for Lindsey House Hospice in Scunthorpe finishing 3rd place dressed head to toe on a very hot day as 10 BIG REG DOGS!!! We also won a wheel barrow full of ale raffle, you'll be shoked to know there was none left by the end of the event!
Ben loved raising money for charity while partaking in It's a Knockout inflatable obstacle events, in fact, before the local Hospice event we previously raised funds for stopped, we were the defending champions!
Winning literally anything this time around however may be a bit of a challenge as to honour our teammates middle name; we will be taking on the challenge dressed up as a group of Clifford the Big Red Dogs!
Supported by Cardiac Risk in the Young (C-R-Y), we're looking to raise the team entry fee funds which is £50 per teammate for Dove House Hospice in Hull, HU8 8DH to have a good laugh, reminisce over our treasured memories of Ben and recount many a funny tale. With the sole aim to hopefully make; Marie, Chloe, baby mama ‘bumhead’ ;) Bek & Tom, Alex, Emily, Ann, Joe, Sam, Sarah, Tori, Alastair, Andy Jenkins, Andy Smith, Bowland, Banksy, Gav, Shep, Griff and the man himself, number #46 proud.
As you can probably tell, succinct writing isn't my strong suit and I'm so sorry if I've missed some of his nearest and dearest there, someone please feel free to correct me and I'll update pronto! But even those names, for me it shows what an impact he had on people.
Dove House have been so supportive of this idea and are so excited to have us, they've even agreed that once we raise the entry fee, we can switch to promoting Ben Russell's C-R-Y page to raise further funds on his behalf.
