John's 12 Month Walking and Hiking Dougie Mac Fundraiser

The 12 Month DMH Walking and Climbing Challenge
PLEASE EXPAND AND READ BELOW FOR FULL PLAN OF CHALLENGES
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am pushing myself to do a series of monthly challenges over 2024, and without injury stopping me and the motivation of both bettering my own physical/mental health and from donations made by you lovely people, hopefully I can get this done!! I hope to raise a good chunk of money for a charity that is very close to my own and my families heart, who have helped many of our close friends and family at their most difficult time after being affected by cancer. Especially Peter Heath, who I am doing this in memory of.
I have also extended my no alcohol attempt and I will now try and do the whole year. This will be in memory of Aunty Grace who we sadly lost in July of this year..
With the help of my sponsors - my own company SpiderWeb Software Ltd. (who have sponsored me and will finance my travel and accommodation for the big challenges), to Longton Protective Clothing (who have sponsored me and provided me with all my kit with printing designs on for the challenges ahead), to WasteBusters Staffordshire (who will make a monthly donation to my total throughout 2024) and to Subway in Longton for providing food and drink for the marathon walk
This is the plan for the 12 month period throughout 2024!!
The target is to hit a min of 4.2million steps for the year (if my calcs are correct for my steps, that should be around 2,095 miles minimum)

TOTAL ACHIEVED FOR 2024 >>> 5,837,275 <<< (2913 miles)
* on the months where it is an average of 10,000 a day, as long as the month total is met, then this will allow rest days for me
** on the months where the total is per day (eg - 12,000), I will need to hit this target every single day throughout that month
--- the only exception to the second rule ** is as follows ---
> December when I will have Chrismas Day off, as mentioned above
*** if I was for some reason to get injured, or weather stopped me from doing for example a mountain climb, then I will still hit my targets for steps, even if it has to be delayed or done in another month, or I will do the big challenge I couldn't do in another month. I WILL hit these targets over the 12 month period however it has to happen!
>>>>I will add regular updates and post if something does become an issue for me, but lets hope that does not become the case<<<<
