I'm trekking the Great Wall of China for Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust

John Eagle is raising money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust
30 fundraisers will take this amazing challenge to trek a remote section of the Great Wall of China, raising vital funds for Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust. This will directly support the ground-breaking care and research we provide at our hospitals.

Story

In May 2026 I will be taking on the challenge to trek a remote section of the Great Wall of China, in aid of Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust.

I will spend 5 days trekking for up to 7 hours per day. Not only will I be trekking steep uphill and downhill sections of the wall, i will also be trekking through wild and remote landscape.

I have decided to take on this challenge as I’ve worked for the trust since 2014 and been a patient for far longer, and always been amazed at the outstanding care both I and my family have received.

Helping to raise some money for the charity is my way of giving a little something back and that’s where you can help.

So far we’ve run a couple of small 6-a-side football tournaments for local(ish) u13 and u9 teams in 2025, and we've got a bigger tournament for u10s happening on Sunday 28th June 2026.

Cheers
