In January 2026, I’ll be taking part in The Arctic Challenge — a 4-day endurance event that includes:

- a 35km dog sled 🛷

- ice fishing 🎣

- a 20km hike through the beautiful, icy terrain of Lapland 🥾

I've never even dreamt of doing something like this, and I'll be the first one to shout that I'm too cold ... but this once in a lifetime experience just sounded like the perfect challenge to get stuck into.

Just like the rest of team that are getting ready to take on this challenge with me, we'll be tested to our limits while in the Arctic wilderness. This is making me feel both nervous and super excited at the same time, I'm sure it will be totally worth it!

The money I raise through this event will help to transform the life stories of children in the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

On average, children from the poorest backgrounds start school 19 months behind their more privileged peers and those without the expected level of literacy skills are held back at every stage of their lives.

I'm hoping to bridge this literacy gap, by raising £2,000 in the lead up to this event.
