Story
I'm taking on the challenge of running the Cambridge Half Marathon because I want to help East Anglia's Children's Hospices continue their work supporting families going through the worst situation.
The 2025 event will be the tenth time I will have ran this half marathon and I was keen to mark the occasion by setting this additional goal. The last time I raised money was the first time I ran this event and I was blown away by the support and generosity of my friends and family. I am hoping to replicate that for such a worthwhile cause and really do not want to waste this charity place.
EACH care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, well-being activities, therapies, care at end of life, bereavement support, counselling and volunteer services in the home; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
Only around 15% of their income comes from Government funding and so they rely heavily on fundraising such as this. A donation of £13 could pay one of their amazing Care Assistants for 1 hour, providing essential care to families.
