Story

I am back again with another crazy idea of how to raise some funds for this amazing charity. I am not going to ask for you money unless I am putting myself through the ringer and this time I am being told I may have gone a little too far.. but isn't that what makes it more worthwhile...

When I returned from last years JOGLE event I was greeted with some beer and pitched the idea of climbing Kilimanjaro and I instantly said yes... problem is how do you train to climb to almost 6000 meters where your body will at some point likely start to shut down through a significant lack of oxygen. Fear not, I will be fine I told my mum!!

We are undertaking an 8 day trek, 6.5 days up and 1.5 days back down again through various climates and some amazing scenery with a final summit day in the region of 15 hours in sub zero conditions, wish me luck!

In a team of 7 all travelling to Tanzania from Devon, we wont have lots of McDonalds and Subways on route but lots of home cooked food by our wonderful support team that will be with us all the way!

Please get onboard and support us!! We are fully self funding this trip, so all your kind donations will go directly to the charity to support the amazing work they do!

The why......I was diagnosed with something called Long QT syndrome, rather than bore you too much with details feel free to visit the link below. It doesn't really bother me too much most of the time but I know I have it and I can avoid taking or doing the wrong things.. (like cycling the length of the country or climbing mountains at altitude) a lot of people are not that lucky which is why I am supporting this great charity. Both of my boys might have this, they have monitoring every 6 - 12 months so honestly, we consider ourselves so fortunate to know this.
