Story
Welcome to my Dreamflight Golf Challenge!
This year, Tony and I will be stepping up to the tee for Dreamflight by playing 192 holes on 6th August at Hockley, Stoneham, Romsey, and Ampfield Golf Clubs.
Many of you may know that my father passed away on the 25th June. Golf was a massive part of his, and our lives. He was also a massive supporter of Dreamflight, so we thought what better way to celebrate his life by challenging ourselves to 192 holes in one day at 4 courses that meant a lot to him.
My dad was everyones 'golf buddy' so it will be an emotional day, but a very rewarding one. Every one of the 50,000 plus steps he will be in our thoughts.
Despite our love of golf, this will not be an easy challenge, both physically and logistically. It will require us to tee off at sunrise, and we anticipate finishing around 9pm! Throughout that time we are likely to be walking 50,000 steps and 50kms, hitting 360 shots each, driving 40 miles, and climbing the equivalent of Mount Snowden!
Every hole I play will help give 192 children with a serious illness, disability or condition the opportunity to step away from their daily medical routine and experience what medicine can't give - independence, confidence, friendship, joy, and the chance to discover their full potential - on the trip of a lifetime to the theme parks of Orlando, Florida this October.
"This isn't just about golf - it's about giving these children a space to be independent, make friends, and find out what they're truly capable of." (Ian Poulter, Ryder Cup legend & PGA Professional Golfer).
By donating:
£10, you could give a child a book of photos from their trip they'll cherish forever.
£35, you could give a child a day of joy in a waterpark in Orlando.
£100, you could fund a transit seat so a child with mobility issues can go on rides.
