Story
Earlier this year, I took on my first-ever full marathon. To be honest, I was so nervous about whether I’d even cross the finish line that I didn't feel comfortable asking for donations. I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it.
I finished, and while it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, it taught me that I’m capable of more than I thought.
Now, I’m heading to the Manchester Half Marathon on October 4th. This time, I’m not just aiming to finish—I’m aiming for a Personal Best. I’ve been training hard to beat my previous times and want to use this momentum to give back to a cause that means a lot to me.
Why Alzheimer’s Society?
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, and many of us have seen the devastating impact it has on families. Alzheimer’s Society is doing incredible work—not just in funding ground-breaking research for a cure, but in providing a lifeline for those living with the condition today.
By donating to my run, you’re helping fund:
Crucial Research: From early diagnosis blood tests to new treatments.
Support Services: Like the Dementia Connect lines that offer guidance to families in their darkest moments.
Advocacy: Making sure dementia remains a priority for the government and the NHS.
Every penny you donate will keep me motivated through those tough miles in Manchester. Whether it's the cost of a coffee or something more, your support is hugely appreciated.
Thank you for being part of my journey and for helping me support the Alzheimer’s Society!
